Science Is Not a Consensus

If science were a consensus, would we still think the Earth is flat? Would we still think the Earth is the center of the universe and that the sun orbits the earth? Science is not a consensus, and anything that falls outside of the mainstream understanding of the science is not necessarily blasphemy when observations back up the new ideas.
