So Earth is currently experiencing another significant SEP, a solar energetic particle event.
For a second consecutive time, this SEP was not accompanied by a Forbush Minimum (where cosmic ray flux drops significantly at the same time the proton event occurs). While we aren’t entirely sure why this is, it could be evidence against the physics regarding how cosmic ray flux actually affects the Earth system!
