Being Right vs Being Ethical

Look at this, another sudden uptick in solar activity in the form of sunspots!

check out that sunspot at extremely high northern latitude!

Call out all of the people who have been shouting and ranting and claiming we’re experiencing a ‘grand solar minimum’! Ask them, ‘Would you rather be right, and see the world in even worse condition? Or, would you rather admit you were wrong, get ahead of your mistakes, quit jumping to conclusions and listen to actual experts?’

Being wrong should be a welcome state. Real scientists work hard disapproving our own hypotheses. We don’t double down on mistakes, attempt to cherry pick publications, mislead donors, and attempt to gaslight critics on social media. We get ahead of mistakes immediately, learn from them, explain where we went wrong and move on.

Never cash in your credibility, because once it’s gone- you’ll likely never get it back.

What were seeing here looks much like a terminator event (essentially the magnetohydrodynamics of a huge and highly active solar cycle), and nothing like a grand solar minimum. Remember all the YouTube channels pulling in millions claiming we’re going into a grand solar minimum? What are they saying now?

Here at smAshomAsh.com we are fans on one thing and only one thing- the truth. Thanks Silver and Gold Level smAsh teAm members.

  1. So true. Mistakes are important in discovering the truth Fear mongering has been around forever. To get people’s attention sometimes it takes the fear of a disaster. Look at Newspapers The headlines are most often an OMG statement. We need to question everything

    • ‘THE END IS NEAR!’ is the oldest grift, as old as language, probably.

OUR BEST DAYS LIE AHEAD, is something you may quote me on! It’s the truth, whether we’re paid millions for it or made homeless- it’s a fact.
